Robert William Service (1874-1958) was a well-traveled poet, war-correspondent, author, and actor. Though born in Lancashire, England, he spent much of his life in Canada, and his most famous poetry immortalized the Yukon where he was stationed for eight years. He married a French woman after serving as a war correspondend in World War I, returned to North America during World War II, and ultimately returned to France after the war was over. He is known for his poetry's great accessibility and often action-packed adventure, and even people with little interest in poetry have taken the time to memorize some of his more famous verses.

Craig Currier is a graduate the University of California, Berkeley, where he majored in English and Dramatic Art. He has been featured in numerous roles in regional and college theaters in Northern California including the Marin Shakespeare Festival, the Prospect Theatre Project and the Central Valley Radio Players. Craig has recorded narration for UC films and is a student at VoiceOne of San Francisco. His wife, Barbara, is happy that he is now spending more time at home recording audio books and less time away in rehearsal.
