Otherwise Pandemonium Screening at Duke
April 28, 2006

Extremely short notice, but I recently got word that a cut of a Otherwise Pandemonium, based on a Nick Hornby short story, will be screened on Duke's campus in Durham around 5:30 today. I may not know where exactly until I actually get there, but I'm posting this more to brag than to encourage anyone else to come. (more after the jump.)

Otherwise Pandemonium

OP was directed by Brian McGinn, a film student who used to work at McSweeney's where the story was first published, and DPed by Steve Milligan who must not be sick of working with me yet, because he recommended me for the job of co-writing the adaptation with Jeremy Pinkham. I was out of town for most of the shoot and rewrites, but I did do some voiceover work, playing both the U.S. President and a reporter for the BBC.

Otherwise Pandemonium 2

Brian apparently still gave us writing credits even though he and others (including Hornby himself!) made plenty of improvements and overhauls to the script after the last draft Jeremy and I handed in. This makes Brian the most generous director in the world. Unless he was responsible for any of my stories getting rejected by McSweeney's, in which case my opinion of him may also need to be revised.
