Back to Journal  « In the City of the Wind | Missed | Pressure to Publish » Missed July 2, 1999 (Selected republication of old entries from the pre-Movable Type journal...) Sapphire Magazine has just folded, almost as quickly as I found it. Both as a reader and as a writer, it's rather upsetting when a small press folds for any reason.
The new issue, which should have been published yesterday instead of the announcement of Sapphire's demise, was set to include a sonnet of mine. I received a check today to cancel the terms of the contract and all rights to the sonnet go back to me (about time to send it elsewhere). It's unfortunate, but it happens. Ah well. Back to work. |

Alex Wilson writes fiction and comics in Carrboro, NC. His work has appeared/will appear in Asimov's Science Fiction, The Rambler, LCRW, Weird Tales, The Florida Review, Futurismic, ChiZine, Pif, and Dragon. Locus Magazine has called him a "promising new writer," and Publishers Weekly also has nice things to say. Alex runs the audiobook project/podcast Telltale Weekly and the writer wiki Guidevines. He publishes the minicomic/zine Inconsequential Art. He is a 2006 Clarion graduate.
