Hey Alex,

I'd like to know if you've gotten past that malaise from Swanwick's dissections yet, and if so, what does if feel like on the other side?

Garsh, I remember listening to Swanwick being read, and reading, on the NYC SF program to which I am devoted, http://www.wbai.org/programs/hourofthewolf/index.php and thinking he was like a distant god and I was eavesdropping on the narration of his universe. And there you are at his feet. Makes you a demigod, I hope you know!

Oh, and I do hope you paid attention to Mur's detail about getting detailed rejection letters, as opposed to form rejection letters, and the other fact that you, ahem, MADE A FRIKKIN ASIMOV'S SALE. AS.I.MOV'S. Do you KNOW what kind of writers make it into Asimov's? Any idea at all? Writers like MICHAEL SWANWICK, that's who.

So. Shake it off! On to the next author and next critique! Soak it uppp. This is so huge. Thanks for letting us piggybak!

Thanks. Yeah, Alan. The malaise lasted about a day (and it wasn't just about the dissections). I've got issues, but no longer that one. Thanks!
