A vampire story on the romance template, these are otherwise as variable as the vampire genre anywhere in horror or dark fantasy (or light silly fantasy, depending on how you use your vampires). In most stories, the hero is a vampire or of a species or race that fits the vampire image, rather than being an out-and-out demon. Only very rarely is the heroine the vampire. The story normally comes to one of two conclusions: the vampire hero is cured and becomes a normal man again, so that they can settle into a traditional happily-ever-after, as is usual in the magical or cursed vampire; or she learns to adjust to his vampiric life, most common in the vampiric race (since genetics don't take well to "curing").
