The Old Bastard's Manifesto is a famous essay by comic book writer Warren Ellis, published as one of his "Come in Alone" columns at Comic Book Resources in 2000. In it he rails against the dominance of the super hero genre (and more significantly the suffocation of all other genres) in the comics medium, and calls creators and readers to action in a bid to change the direction of comics in the new century.
