Genre Poem
From Guidevines, a user-editable wiki for writersFrom Guidevines
A "genre poem" can be defined as a poem that incorporates a defining element of its genre. Note that this relies on extrinsic definitions of "poem" and of "genre" (where "genre" would actually be replaced "science fiction," "fantasy," etc. Suzette Haden Elgin, founder of the Science Fiction Poetry Association, has written that, "I assumed 'poem' as defined, and proposed that an sf poem was one that had two parts: a science part, and a fiction — narrative — part."
