Dorchester publishes two lines of books: Leisure (horror, western, and non-whodunnit crime and thriller novels) and Lovespell (all sorts of romances, but especially paranormal romances. Their SMOOCH line of YA romances (including paranormal romances) is not to be missed.

They are open to self-selling authors, first-time authors, and are pretty prompt in their replies for this business.

They seem to use the first reader/triage system of handling incoming synop&3 (synopsis and first three chapters). If you fall outside their parameters, they can have your SASE in your mailbox in under two weeks. Longer is better: it got higher up the ladder. They give their response time as 6-8 months, obviously for something that gets passed around for consideration.
