Home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, this small town of about 20,000 residents is also home to nearly 1000 artists and writers of all stripes.

Founded in 1855 with its original name of Ashland Mills, the town sits 15 miles north of the California border along Interstate 5 in the Rogue Valley.
